Shooting pets with firearms
1. If you witness someone shoot stray dogs and cats or other animals with firearms, immediately call the police (192)! The Penal Code prescribes torture and killing of animals as prohibited and characterised as a criminal offense. The use of firearms in public areas is dangerous for citizens as well and is considered an act of harassment of public order and peace.
2. You can subsequently report the case to the competent office of the veterinary inspection, along with a written description of the location, the name of the perpetrator if known, photographs or any other evidence.
4. Contact Green Phone (072 123456) - the report can be sent anonymously. You can also contact the associations dealing with the protection of animals.
5. Note: you can always, especially if it is a matter of great urgency, and during the weekends, holidays or night, call the emergency services on 112.
