We present the publication YOU CAN DO IT! - Independent and active citizens in environmental protection with the aim of encouraging citizens to participate actively and independently in solving environmental problems. It can be downloaded here.

It all started 26 years ago with the idea of ​​starting a telephone line where citizens can report problems in the environment or to make suggestions, and the on-call person transmitted the information to the competent institutions. Three years later, the idea was, under the name of Green phone, realized in Zagreb, at the Green Action association.

This short Guide for working on the Green Phone was created within the project “Spreading the Green Phone Network” financed by REC (Regional Environmental Centre) through the SECTOR programme.
In order to introduce you to the work of the Green Phone and facilitate the work of future activists, we describe its formation, work principles, and goals.
By it, we wish to facilitate the participation of new activists and our fellow citizens in the protection of the environment.

After a two-year monitoring of the situation and research work, as well as the work on the Green Phone, members of the Network have collected and processed numerous data on the situation concerning the waste management in Croatia. This data was consolidated in the publication Research and Comparison of EU and Croatian Standards in Waste Management II.

The Green Phones’ bulletin that you have in front of you is the final product of the project “Green Phone Network” financed by the Ministry of Environment and Nature Protection. The project started in July 2011 and lasted until the end of August 2012.

The Green Phones’ bulletin that you have in front of you is the final product of the project “Spreading the Green Phone Network” financed by REC (Regional Environmental Centre) through the SECTOR programme. With this Bulletin we intend to make you familiar with the work on the Green Phone, by describing the cases received and resolved by the activists. With the descriptions of cases resolved by the activists on the Green Phone, a detailed analysis of calls received by the Green Phones for the duration of the project was presented.

For quality work of activists on the Green Phone and active participation of citizens in the protection of environment and nature, a 'tool' is needed to facilitate the orientation concerning the competencies of public services and search for their contact information.

Green Address Book of the Green Phone Network, created within the project “Strengthening the Green Phone Network” for which the Green Phone Network received support from the European Commission in 2003.
In order to facilitate your active participation/action in environmental protection, we have created this address book to help you do that.
All information in the Green Address Book refers to the situation in May 2004. We will continue to supplement it, in which you can help us with your remarks.
