Wastewater flowing into the sea
WHAT CAN YOU DO IF YOU NOTICE THAT WASTEWATER IS FLOWING INTO THE SEA DURING BAD WEATHER AND RAIN OR THE SEA IS BEING POLLUTED FOR ANY OTHER REASON (SEWAGE FLOWING DIRECTLY FROM SEPTIC TANKS)?
1. Find information about competent and responsible institutions for the polluted area at the local level (Municipality, Utility Services, Harbour Master, Water Management Inspection) and national level (Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, Ministry of Health).
2. Photographically record the disputable pollution.
3. After the first step, you can:
a. Contact the responsible authorities yourself. In this case, these are: Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure (Harbour Master), Ministry of Agriculture (Water Management Inspection), Ministry of Health (Sanitary and Health inspection).
b. Contact the nearest Green Phone centre on 072 123 456 and provide the following information:
- the responsible authorities you contacted,
- recorded material you collected (photographs, video recordings...),
- other information.
the Green Phone activists, after collecting the information, will forward it to responsible authorities
