Through the Green Phone in July this year, Zeleni Osijek has received several calls from concerned citizens regarding the disposal of railway sleepers at the Našice railway station, on the sixth track.
A large number of railway sleepers are located here, just a few meters from the houses of nearby citizens.

In 2015, the "Krka" Ecological Association, Knin received a call via the Green Phone (072 123456) from a citizen who reported that at the beginning of Donji Žagrović, beside the river Radljevac, someone had been starting fires always in the same place. Several times each day (even on weekends), smoke rises from there. The smoke is mostly present at dawn, around 6:00 am. He mentioned that this could be a wild landfill that may pose a major environmental threat along the river.

Six “Small actions” showed that cross-sectoral cooperation is possible and necessary. “Small actions” include activities conducted within the framework of the project "Partnership for the Environment", funded by the EU and the Office for Cooperation with NGOs of the Croatian Government.

The aim of these actions was to identify and resolve local environmental problems. We have determined the problems and solutions through a dialogue with the competent institutions for environmental protection, each of the partner associations in the project for its Green Phone area.

Partner Associations in the project "Partnership for the Environment", funded by the EU and the Office for Cooperation with NGOs of the Croatian Government, in the framework of the project and in cooperation with local radio and TV stations, began producing informative and educational shows called Green Phone this spring.
By presenting the current, local environmental issues, we aim to use the shows to encourage citizens to actively and independently participate in solving environmental problems , but also to ensure greater visibility of the Green Phone Network.

A citizen called the Green Phone of Eco Pan and asked for help in solving a problem related to an open channel for wastewater.
It is an abandoned channel, covered with grass and weeds, from which wastewater does not drain but is retained and floods the surrounding land.

Eco Zadar received a report through the Green Phone about an unbearable stench caused by the accumulation of animal waste in the Bibinje area. More specifically, on the road from Bibinje to Babindub, Franjada (Gornji Brig) road, toward the Gromić forest.

The waste is located throughout the length of the road. (The waste consists of construction waste, animal waste, waste from septic tanks, miscellaneous …)

072 123 456 is the number of the Green Phone, the service through which citizens across Croatia can report various environmental issues and make suggestions, while activists from civil society organisations forward the information to the competent institutions.

In the period from 1 January 2016 to 30 June 2016, citizens contacted the Green Phones in Croatia 1263 times. The largest number of reports is in the Waste category. In 2014, a total of 457 reports were received in this category, which is more than 36% of the total number.

Through the Green Phone citizens reported illegal disposal of harmful materials into the stream in the village of Sovinjak in Buzet.

Namely, this June a part of the county road of approximately 1000 m2 in the village of Sovinjak was repaired.
The County Roads Administration of Istria County, which concluded a contract with Istarske ceste d.o.o. for the performance of works, is in charge of repairing the road, while the locals are saying that a local company from Buzet was also contracted for the performance of works.

Three trees on this site were not planted at random, but rather due to an author project that successfully formed a micro-ambience in the street that otherwise has no greenery, and the green respite that the carefully positioned trees formed contributed substantially to the quality of residence.

Trees in a city are extremely important: they create more comfortable environments, contribute to biodiversity, purify the air, regulate temperature and humidity, reduce noise pollution, dust and radiation and create shade in the summer.
